Circle of Security Program

February 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This Program is a total of 4 sessions that will take place on the following Saturdays from 1:00pm – 3:30pm: February 23, March 2, March 23, and March 30.

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what their children might need from them. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you.

Circle of Security is a relation-based early intervention program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. The program is based on decades of research about how secure attachment can be supported and strengthened. Adoption Center of Illinois (ACI) has partnered with Dr. Laura Brock Fraint to provide the Circle of Security Program to adoptive families in 4 sessions. Dr. Fraint will work with parents to help them:
1. Promote secure attachment and emotional well-being
2. Understand their child’s cues
3. Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
4. Reflect on their parenting

Dr. Fraint has provided clinical services to children and families since 2007, with a focus on early childhood assessment and treatment for issues such as ADHD, disruptive behavior, child and family trauma, anxiety, and childhood depression. At Erikson’s Center for Children and Families, Dr. Fraint provides developmental, psycho-educational, and psychological evaluations and counseling services.

This program is appropriate for adoptive parents of children aged 0-5 years seeking developmental guidance and insight into nurturing positive and growth-promoting relationships with their children. It is appropriate for parents of children with both typical development and those struggling with emotional regulation, impulse control, disruptive behavior, aggression, and acting withdrawn.
