Please join us for an engaging and interactive evening with Rabbi Susan Silverman, author of Casting Lots: Creating a Family in a Beautiful, Broken World. Rabbi Silverman will discuss her compelling memoir and share:
- What calls us to become permanent, loving families for children who need them
- Why adoption enriches our families and communities
- How adoption and Judaism are woven together
Susan Silverman is a rabbi, author, activist and mom. She has written for and appeared in many publications including The Forward, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, and The Huffing ton Post. She can be heard on NPR’s Fresh Air and with her sister, comedian Sarah Silverman, on ABC’s The View and the “Women in the World” Conference at Lincoln Center. She is the Founding Director of Second Nurture: Every Child Deserves a Family – And a Community. Susan and her spouse, Josef Abramowitz, live in Israel and have five children, through birth and adoption.
